Shower Blog 4

The greatest is love.

I can't afford to forget the basics.

---

I am a river. A constant flowing in, a constant pouring out. Just like when you're draining water using a hose, it's the water the flows out that causes a draw/demand on the water source to replace what was lost. Relationship, finances, stewardship, teaching, the prophetic, gifts, etc. Stewardship is just the label for the effect of how a river is supposed to work.

Up to this point i haven't really lived with this reality, I've been bottling some things up, creating a dead, rotting pond, instead of a life-giving river (John 7:38).

It's also interesting how, when rivers are moving, they erode the ground that carries the water, and it gradually gets deeper and deeper, becoming more and more capable to move more water.

Revival Alliance I

It was such an honor to be invited to the leaders meeting before the actual meetings started. To be around such wonderful people, Heidi, Randy, Georgian, Che, and Bill... what an honor!

Georgian talked about sacrificial love. At one point, we need to start believing that it is really Christ in me, the hope of glory, and at the same time, Christ in you, the hope of glory. To release an agape love over our brothers and sisters we need to be able to see the Christ in people; willing to die for them, because they are willing to do the same for us. Heidi touched on this, she said she was willing to die for every one of us in the room, and that screwed me up... There's a dimension of this love that is SOOO radical... I was and am completely willing to give my life for one of the leaders, because they have given so much to me, but my logic couldn't make sense of it when Heidi said that she would be willing to die for me because of the love in her.

Heidi's original vision was to create a net (network) that would be able to support all the fish (harvest, new revivalists) that are going to be coming into the kingdom soon. She said that we should be carrying so much of Him that people would be running to Him, like carrying fresh bread (word) and wine (spirit), people will run to you to be fed.

Che was talking about the Lord's prayer, how we often extend it to deliverance and healing, and said it was about time to bring it to another level. There's no racism, abortion, systemic poverty, or homeless people in heaven; it's time to declare social change in the context of heaven on earth.

Bill talked about the perfect structure of romance and how the fathers in the earlier part of the century failed to pass on vision, anointing, and power to the next generation. Randy talked about how A.A. Allen had a great anointing, but he got scared and nervous when his sons began to succeed and people began to divert their attention to them instead of him. Because of the lack of honor, where powerful people empower each other instead of shutting each other down, the anointing on his life died with him, much like many of the past revivalists in the 1900s.

And then he talked about how honor releases life. Honor your father and mother... and you will have long life. Honor releases LIFE.

That was just the leaders meeting. Gotta chew on some words. I didn't even talk about easter weekend with Georgian, and John Crowder...

God...more! and help me see what I already have!

Unlovable

So a friend told me about how she was loved when she thought she was "unlovable".

I started thinking...

the point of it all is to remove that word from our vocabulary, no one is too far from love, nothing can separate love, love never fails.

'unlovable' is an old man word. In the eyes of God, YOU are always lovable, so we gotta learn to see as He sees.

"I can't afford to have a thought in my head that is not in the heart of God" - Bill Johnson

You are always lovely, always lovable, always loved, always the be-loved.

People are just one encounter away from Jesus. YOU are the answer.

His Great Love

"Although these are aspects of the love of God, there is still so much missing because God's love encompasses everything that He is. He does not have love; He is love. Love has become more than an emotion, love is now a being and that being is God. It is what He is. He is love! I have love, but I am not love. I can give love and I can receive love, but I am not love. God in His very essence is love and the love with which He relates to His creation is not dependent upon our perfection. It is not dependant upon us doing things right and it does not diminish if we do things wrong because love is what He is. His love is not just a commitment or an emotion; it is what and who He is. God is love and the essence and character of His love is so high that the higher you go in it, the less tangible it seems. He has to bring the tangible expression of His love way down in degrees, to enable us to relate to it. The further you get out of the temporal and into the Spirit where you are touching the higher degrees of God's love, the more you realize how pure His love is. This pure love is so different from ours that He has to bring His love down to our level so we can relate to the love He has for us.

His love is also holy. I love to experience being carried up in His love because of His holiness. His holiness fills every particle, every bit of His love. The entire essence of His love is holy and because of that holiness, it is so clean and so pure. The all consuming essence of His love is that part of Him that lifts us up out of everything we have ever thought, everything we have ever been or could hope to be, and lets us touch eternity. This is the love of God. It is holy, yet it is tender. It is filled with compassion, mercy and care. It is filled with carefulness, gentleness and kindness. His love does not fret because it is filled with faith. Remember, His eyes are eternal. He sees everything from beginning to end and no matter how bad things get, He knows how good they are going to get before it is over. Because His love is so humble and unassuming, it is not demanding, pressing, sharp or hard. Although His love can be very strong and firm, it is still filled with love. He can chastise us like a father, but you know in this case it is coming from a Father who loves you."
